the chronicle of the traveller.
before etheirys was sundered, there were two souls that appeared before unsuspecting parents unannounced.one; hades. the other; ademus. several were surprised by the arrival of the twins; as though it was a blessing from the star itself.
the two of them were destined for greatness.
ademus was a curious one - they were always looking for something new; looking for adventure and loving the new concepts that had come from the bureau of architect. they loved weird and wonderful things, and looked up to azem, considering her the source of their want for adventure.ademus, however, could not control their magic.a mage gifted with boundless aether much alike their twin, but volatile, and affected mostly by their emotions. even hades did not know how to teach them to control it.
they had already been forced to leave the word of halmaurt and lahabrea both, and even when mitron - their soulmate's parent - had offered them a place, things went wrong once again, and mitron had to ask ademus to leave.the convocation was made aware of ademus' situation, and azem especially grew interested in them and their problems. and so azem had sought them out, and offered to mentor ademus to be able to control their magic.azem had learnt more and more about ademus throughout their mentoring, and realised that ademus would be perfect as the one to take the azem seat once she retired. yet there was more training to be done before azem could think about retiring and leaving the fate of azem in ademus' hands.
shepherd to the stars in the dark.
**and so, years finally passed and ademus finally could control their magic. **the seat of azem was finally unoccupied, with venat retiring and stepping down. as venat realised all those years ago when she started mentoring ademus, they were perfect for the seat - and even the convocation agreed. the other 13 were impressed with ademus' progress.and so, ademus took the seat of azem, and began their adventures as the 14th member of the convocation.
ademus - as azem - had saved countless cultures outside of amaurot, and even brought back creatures to share to their family. they were found several times upon entering amaurot with a creature elpis researchers dubbed a "abyssus" under their arms. they even brought home a "clionid" and occasionally other weird and wonderful fish for the love of their life.hades had also finally been chosen to be part of the convocation too, but as the seat of emet-selch. hades' soul sight was strong enough to determine the colours of different souls, and was perfect for the seat of emet-selch when the first choice had turned it down. he helped as much as he could within amaurot; including returning lost souls to the underworld.
and that was not the limit of ademus' power as azem. as traveller and councillor to the people, they often visited other villages and areas all across etheirys. they had even acquired the way to manipulate time, and even had the ability to peer into the future because of this.one in particular village they oft visited was elpis - home to the researchers who were in charge of watching concepts and seeing how they would fare in the wider world.once when ademus was visiting elpis, looking for their soulmate who was most definitely teaching the elpis researchers about fish, they had come across anonmalies from the future - their sundered shard.through this, they were aware of everything that happens in the future. but they did not let that get them down - they were going to live life to the fullest, even if that meant they had a secret they could tell no one else.
most of the convocation and ancient people adored ademus; they always brought happiness and a smile whereever they went, and it was most likely that a flower would oft land in your hand if you were to have a palm open towards them.there was always one that looked up to them most. a youth by the name of themis, who had considered ademus a friend for along time.though not of the convocation until later in themis' story, ademus did work closely with him. after-all, themis had always worked closely with the convocation.even when themis had to tackle the troubles of pandaemonium within elpis, themis always asked ademus for opinions on how to tackle it, and even if ademus could not help at the current time, they had used their foresight to know exactly who could.it was no secret that themis adored ademus, and on several occasions had ademus brought back gifts for the young ancient, including grapes from far away villages.
with ademus, as azem, and hades, as emet-selch, joined by hythlodaeus, the chief of the bureau of architect, and lhitherie, a akadaemia researcher within the words of mitron, the four of them got up to mass amounts of trouble. they always worked together, and when ademus needed them on their adventures, did they always answer the call of azem.the world was perfect, and all four of them had perfect lives.
the world be sundered, and our souls set adrift.
but much alike all goods things, it must come to an end. and with the song of despair begun the final days.the convocation, with a small understanding of dynamis, could determine where the final days were going to hit next, and used that to play accordingly.ademus, as part of their duty as azem, did not abandon amaurot.(even as the skies bled around them, they continued to try and figure out a way to stop the world being destroyed; to stop amaurot from crumbling.they knew full well the final days were coming. they knew that it had to happen - that they had to be sundered. but they could not come to terms with it just yet; it could not end just yet. there was surely enough time.
the convocation had already decided what they would do.
ademus could not agree with their measures. the idea of sacrificing half of their kind to summon a being - a primal - that would use young themis, now elidibus, as it's heart. half of the people they knew would just be gone in an instance - and they would not even be able to come back. their aether would be consumed to bring forth the "salvation" to the world.and ademus could not agree with the sacrifice. they did not want it to end like this for half the people they wanted to protect.and so did ademus defected from the convocation. with that, did the seat of azem disappear from the convocation. the seat of azem no longer existed, and the stone be destroyed - if hades had not preserved it and kept it safe, hoping that ademus would see reason and come back to the convocation.even when defected, they still tried their hardest to save amaurot and it's people, opting to destroy any rogue concepts that had been summoned as a result of fear and hopelessness. they would not let amaurot die without a fight.
after the summoning of zodiark, hades had tried to find ademus once again, in an attempt to reason with them. hades wanted to bring ademus back to the convocation. he confessed that he knew that the convocation could not survive without the seat of azem, but ademus did not care.hades had found them far outside of amaurot amongst blue flowers, underneath a tree with pink butterflies as flowers - or was, before the final days.ademus stood before a small clionid resting upon the flower beds. hades was aware what the clionid meant, but that did not stop hades trying to persuade ademus to come back to amaurot - to help bring peace back to the star after the final days.ademus disagreed. they had explained to hades what had happened, and even brandished their scythe towards their twin for even putting the idea back to them to join the convocation again.
the seat of azem was gone, and ademus with it.

i tweet about ancients and ascians a lot, in particular emet-selch and hythlodaeus.i love the characters, i do not condone their actions.
i headcanon themis/elidibus to be a child (14-16). if that upsets you, you'll not enjoy my twitter.
proshippers are not welcome.i am liberal with the block button and i will not argue about the "proshipper" and "anti" discourse. i have better things to do.
